Mother calls the Police on Nanny- see whatt she did

Mom Calls Cops on Nanny. Sometimes It Doesn't 'Take a Village' to Raise a Kid.

When Jenna Cooper got home from work last August and heard that another mother in her Brooklyn neighborhood called the cops on her nanny, her immediate reaction was fear. “I heard the word ‘police,’ and got really nervous,” Cooper, a lawyer in Brooklyn, tells Yahoo Parenting. “But after my nanny Nicki explained the situation to me, my worry turned to anger and disbelief.” Turned out Nicki had been at the park with Cooper’s daughter, Anna, who often took her afternoon nap in her stroller. On this day, Anna was crying before she fell asleep, which wasn’t unusual. “My daughter has a strong set of lungs, and she sometimes cries when she’s put down to nap, as I imagine many kids do,” she says. “Since we did sleep training with her when she was very young, we’re fine with that — as Nicki knows.”
Not so fine was a local mother, who approached Nicki and asked why the baby was crying, and why Nicki wasn’t doing anything about it. After hearing Nicki’s explanation, the mother accused her of neglect — and then called the cops. “Anna did in fact fall asleep,” Cooper says. “And when the cops showed up, they laughed that they were called in.”

DISCUSSION: IS IT BETTER TO GET A NANNY FROM AN AGENCY OR THE VILLAGE.

In today's world were we have working moms and little time to stay at home with the kids you may have issues with getting the right help for your children, also due to the time frame given from work some moms do not have enough time to get a reliable and good nanny that leaves moms to pick the next available person to stand in without doing any proper background checking.

That leaves us with the option of Nanny agencies. they prove to be reliable and more thorough and you may have to pay extra for the process. they also provide replacements for mismatch without extra fee and put your family's interest and that of the nanny into consideration

So whats your take on this should you consult nanny agencies or take any available one from the village

SHOCKING!!! MARRIED WOMAN CATCHES HUBBY WITH THE NANNY

A MARRIED WOMAN revealed in court that she caught her husband red-handed having unprotected sex with their domestic worker. Vincentia Muzondiwa said she was no longer in good books with her husband Richard as a result of his conduct.

Vincentia bared it all at the Harare civil court where she was seeking a protection order against Richard.

"My husband is unfaithful to me. I recently caught him having sex with our domestic worker at the house, and to make matters worse he was not even wearing a condom," said Vincentia.

She went on to tell the court that Richard was spending all his money on booze neglecting their kids. "I have since assumed a new job as a kombi driver to sustain our kids. As for this man, he spends all his money on alcohol" she said.

Responding to the claims, Richard said: "She comes home late after spending some time at clubs. At one point, she spent three days away from home after she had said that she was going to Alick Macheso's show. Imagine, she left on December 24 and came back on the 26th," said Richard.

He went on to tell the court that Vincentia was physically abusing him.

Magistrate Renikah Dzikiti, who presided over the case, granted the protection order in Vincentia's favour much to Richard's dismay

SHOCKING!!! see what this Nanny Cam caught in the house

A mother in Washington watched from work as an explosion rocked her home.
Her nanny cam was set up inside her home when the boiler exploded.
Debris was sent shooting through the wall right in the area where the children normally play.
A camera rolling in a different room recorded the grand piano shaking. Moments later, the nanny is seen running to save the little baby sleeping in her room.
"She ran straight back in here, not knowing what was in here, grabbed Lily and went outside," said Anne-Marie Faiola.
Faiola says her son had gone to work with his father that day. It may have saved his life.
"When you think about the what-ifs, of course you get emotional" Faiola said, "But I really need to focus on the positive, which is hey, the house is cracked in half, totally fine. We can fix that."

EBOLA :HOW TO KEEP OUR CHILDREN SAFE

Our children are our pride and at most risk of catching this deadly disease because of their age, period of development and playfulness.
We want to keep our children safe at all times to prevent them from catching this deadly disease.
we as parents all agree that children contract a lot of air-borne and water-borne diseases from schools due to their much interaction with kids from different homes.
So the question is do i stop my child from going to school because of this disease?
Do i try home schooling? which is more expensive. what if i don’t have the means to provide home schooling for my child.
there are a few important things we can do as parents to protect our kids from this deadly disease.
1. Children sweat a lot due to play and even if warned they tend to forget so always wash your children’s uniforms with disinfectant and a little bleach: local bleach is known to kill various bacteria and viruses
2. Buy them a hand sanitizer to carry always with a stern warning to always use before eating and after touching and playing with friends.
3. Information is going around that people should bath with hot water and salt, do not try to apply this to your child. It is false information.
4. Equip your child with enough food from home, and if you must buy snacks please buy from a trusted source and buy it yourself, don’t let your children collect food from other children at school. if you cant buy snacks please pack enough food for them.
For more tips keeping your children safe and more nanny tips keep reading our blog.

Do Your Thoughts Help or Hinder You?

The way you look at a situation dramatically affects your attitude. Have you ever stopped to listen to the way you talk to yourself? While working, have you ever said to yourself, “I don’t get paid for this kind of abuse!”? How does such a thought affect your attitude and your behavior? Do your thoughts help or hinder you?
In the book, Dealing with People You Can’t Stand, Dr. Rick Brinkman and Dr. Rick Kirschner explain that just as what you think has an effect on what you say, so does what you say to yourself influence what you think. When you change the way you talk to yourself about a problem, you change the way you think about it at the same time.

Paper Bag Puppets

Creative Projects to Do With Kids
Every pre-school and early elementary school-aged child I have ever cared for loves puppets. Making simple paper bag puppets allows kids to practice coloring, cutting, and pasting. I like cutting out shapes from colored construction paper for young kids to make animals, princesses, and princes but it’s even easier to print out paper bag puppet templates online. It took me less than half an hour to print out templates and gather the supplies to make the puppets and less than 15-minutes for the four-year-old I care for to make the three puppets pictured above. My favorite site for paper bag puppet templates is abcteach.com.

TEETHING REMEDIES contd

Somewhere between 3 and 12 months, your baby’s teeth will make their grand, grumpy entrance. Here’s how to read the symptoms of teething along with remedies to ease your baby’s discomfort.
When your baby’s first tooth shows up, you might be taken by surprise (“Ow! Was that just a bite?”), or you might just finally understand what all those surefire teething signs — drooling, night waking, crabbiness — were pointing to. Every baby experiences teething differently: Some have virtually no symptoms, while other babies experience teething pain for months. Fortunately, there are some signs to watch for as this developmental milestone approaches that can help make teething easier for your baby — and for you.

BRUSHING YOUR BABY’S TEETH

Why It’s Important to Keep Baby Teeth Healthy Your baby’s primary teeth may be only a temporary tool for chomping, to be replaced during the early school years by his permanent pearls. But it’s no less important to take good care of them now and to establish the habits that will lead him toward a lifetime of dental health. Decayed or lost baby teeth can interfere with good nutrition and speech development, and by not holding a proper place for permanent teeth, they can make the permanent ones come in crooked.

MY BABY IS TEETHING !!!

While you can’t take on your baby’s teething discomfort, you can help take it away with these mom-tested remedies:
  1. Chewing. Teething babies love to chew, and for good reason: The gumming action provides counterpressure, which relieves the aching pressure of new pearly whites pushing up and out into the mouth. Bumpy rubber teething rings, rattles and other teething toys work well (including — your baby has probably figured out — the plastic bumper on a crib rail). Chewing is even more effective when the object is cold and numbs the gums. Keep a supply of teething toys or wet washcloths in the fridge, rather than the freezer — very cold comfort can hurt sensitive gums just as much as an erupting tooth does.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A NANNY

  • Love of children. Of course the top characteristic of a nanny is her genuine love of kids. Education, experience and special skills matter but none of those will make a Love person who doesn’t truly love working with children a quality caregiver. Enjoying children and feeling honored to be a caregiver to them is the foundation that everything else is built on.
  • Enthusiastic. Nannies work long days and often have a lot of responsibilities. For some, that can quickly squelch their excitement about the job. Others take it all in stride and let their natural enthusiasm for working with children lead them through the day. A nanny that can stay excited about coming to work day after day is one who your child will enjoy spending time with.
      • Fun. Childhood is all about fun. Look for a nanny that truly enjoys what she does and will plan fun, well rounded days for your child. Being silly, finding the humor in everyday situations, and having a upbeat outlook on life are all key elements to look for in your next caregiver.
      • Nurturing. The idea of nurturing a child is at the heart of a nanny’s role. Being able to connect on a deep level, build a safe, loving relationship and offer a

HARMATTAN SEASON TIPS

The cold weather and the heavy amount of foggy dust in the air that can limit visibility and block the sun for several days, comparable to a heavy fog shows that the harmattan is here again.
Harmattan is a dry and dusty West African trade wind. It blows south from the Sahara into the Gulf of Guinea between the end of November and the middle of March. In most cases, humidity drops to as low as 15 per cent Celsius.
As a result of the dusty air, people who are asthmatic can have more attacks. There is also high rate of upper respiratory tract infections among people whereby people will be coughing, sneezing because of the dust. As much as possible, those who have air conditions can use them, but they must ensure they close their windows so that they are not exposed to dust.

The Nanny Dairy- Major Drama Queen

Major Drama Queen

I was 19 at the time and a live-in nanny for a family with 3 kids ages 5-9 right outside of chicago. There was also a 2nd nanny but since it was the weekend she was off and the parents were out of town. The 9yr old was the only girl and was super dramatic about everything.
Earlier that day I can’t remember if this was the time she slapped her younger brother in the car or she ripped his foam sword and made him cry. .

In any case when we got back home she freaked out and ran upstairs to her room crying because if I told her dad she would get a spanking. She went over to her window (which didn’t have a screen – completely dangerous) and threatened to jump out of the window. She said she’d rather jump than get a spanking. I mean she literally had a leg over by the time I reached her. I nearly had a heart attack.
They were honestly great kids but man do I have plenty of stories kid wise and parent wise
